Sasha

"Damn, girl! He's doing you too good!" Lily teases me while I FaceTime her.

I look at my face through the screen and smile. Even I can't hide that I bloom with happiness. Last night was fantastic. My heart still dances as I think of it. It's not the first time I reached ecstasy and became satisfied with being held like a woman. But it's not fake this time. Oh, Dmitri.

Dmitri is like my father. He knows how to calm me and make me feel good. It's amazing. Dmitri is! I woke up feeling excited about the new day. I haven't had that feeling since my abduction. I want to stay in this moment for a long time.

“You are falling for him. For real!” Lily adds.

I freeze for a moment before a strange thrill whips my heart. Falling for him. Love Dmitri? No. I'm not. It's just my heart turns weak when getting genuine affection right now. I'm enjoying the moment, but it's not love. It's not love. Love will mess up everything I planned.

“Sash…Sicily, it’s okay if you do,” Lily tells me after noticing my silence. “Just don’t forget your plan.”

“Are you listening to yourself? I’m using Dmitri for my revenge. How can I love him and let him love me?”

"So, you want to stop?" Lily asks. I open the window and watch as Dmitri dives into the pool. I giggle like a little girl peeping on her naked crush. "I want you to be happy, don't get me wrong. You are."

"Then why can't I stop?" I ask while still watching Dmitri. "What if this is the right thing to do, Lily? What if I become his woman? A mother to our children? He's offering me my dreams."

Lily falls silent for a while. She’s hesitating from breaking my joy today, but I can tell the bother in her eyes. I raise my eyebrows giving her a sign to speak. She blows a sigh and points out, “Will you be safe? He’s part of the people who want to kill you. He’s friends with Gabriel. And that guy, as long as he lives, you’ll never be the girl you dream to be.”

I stop watching Dmitri as Lily's words sink into my head. She's right. I can be happy with Dmitri, but I'll forever be unsafe. The Bratva won't hesitate to order my death if they discover who I am. And I dare to bring a child into my sick world?

“I hope… I know Dmitri will protect you, especially if you two have babies,” Lily continues. “But make sure you kill that guy. He destroys the Sasha you want to be. I hate to break it to you, but with him around, you’ll remain as Sicily. And you’ll forever pray Dmitri won’t find out.”

I look out the window and find Dmitri gone. Dmitri seems to know who I am. He's doing things I would have loved to do if I were Sasha. Or I’m only wishful thinking. Lily is wrong. Even with Gabriel dead, I will still be Sicily in Dmitri's world.
