After dinner, Gunnar and I read, drank tea, and then got ready for bed. He didn’t have to ask this time, he just crawled into bed with me. We’ve been laying here for a while now, but I’m restless. I want him to touch me again, but I don’t know how to ask for it.

I can tell he’s just as awake as I am. I can’t explain it, but I swear I can feel his body humming with tension, even though we’re not touching. I reach out for his hand in an attempt to soothe him. Our fingers lace together and he pulls me into his side.

I roll into him, resting my head on his chest with one arm flung over his abs. Gunnar releases my hand so he can wrap his arm around my back.

“This ok, pixie?” He asks.

I nod against his chest. Being this close to him, feeling his bare skin against my cheek… it ignites that flame he sparked to life this morning. I want him. I want him like I’ve never wanted anybody. I want him in ways I thought were impossible. I want him to take me, ravish me, own me. I want his touch to be the only one I remember.

“What are you thinking about, Finley?”

“Huh?”

God, did I say any of that out loud?

“Your heart is beating right out of your chest, baby. Are you ok?”

“Oh,” I say, embarrassed. “Yeah, I…”

Gunnar strokes my cheek, so tenderly.

“You what, pixie?”

I sit up and lean over Gunnar so we’re face to face.

“I want to do this,” I whisper right before kissing him.

He’s shocked at first, I think, because he doesn’t respond. I press my lips further into his, practically climbing up his body. Then I feel his hands tangling in my hair as he angles me right where he wants me and thrusts his tongue into my mouth. I gasp and moan as he takes over, giving me what I need. I feel his kiss everywhere. It’s full of a desperate need that mirrors my own.

We break apart, panting for air.

“I need you, Gunnar. All of you,” I plead, not even ashamed any more.

“Fuck, baby, I don’t want to take advantage of you.”

I kiss him again, hoping to show him how much I want this, how much I want him. He groans into my mouth and trails his hands down my body, squeezing my ass and pressing me closer to him. Gunnar groans in approval as I shamelessly rub my body up and down, needing him to do something about this ache I have between my thighs.

“Please, Gunnar. Make me forget. Make me forget everything before now. Before you.”

In one swift move, he rolls us over so he’s on top of me. Gunnar dips his head down and kisses me thoroughly before trailing his lips down my neck. I gasp when I feel his hand sneak up the inside of the night shirt I have on, his fingertips grazing over my ugly, marked skin.

“It’s ok, Finley. Do you trust me?”

“Yes,” I breathe out.
