The five of them made it to the top of the platform, ready to fight the giant of a Naga. Terrim took the lead, shield ready with Knox on his flank ready to support him. Henry stayed in the back where he hoped it would be safest, Beth at his side with bow ready. Murdoch was on Terrim’s other side, ready to strike forward and get a blow in whenever the chance opened up to him. Together they stood strong against their foe.

The Naga attacked first, his powerful lance coming down on Terrim with deadly speed. Knox saw it coming, but did nothing until the Naga was fully extended. When he could go no further, Knox shifted his weight from his back foot to the front, lunging forward, axe ready. His blow hit armor, but smashed with enough force that he knew that the Naga commander must have felt it.

Responding to the blow, the Naga shifted on its tail, his lance nearly bowling Knox over as he withdrew. But the others hadn’t been idle either. Murdoch found an opening in the armor and a flash of red blood followed. Next came arrow after arrow, only one in three finding a mark between the armor, but Beth was using her Rapid Fire arrows and they came quick and deadly.

Back and forth they struck, each blow slowly bringing down the boss’s health. It was during this exchange that something occurred to Knox. They really were overpowered for this area when they worked together. This fight might not be as dangerous as Knox had thought.

Of course, that was when the boss shot out a wave of ice that stuck all of them fast on the ground. The giant Naga came in swiftly, smashing into Terrim, the only one not affected by the magic and suddenly it was a one-on-one match.

Using his axe Knox began to chip away at the ice, seeing the others doing likewise. All but Henry, he just began to cast a spell, a long and complicated one that Knox was sure he remembered hearing before.

Meanwhile, Terrim screamed in pain as a blow got past his defenses and drew a line of blood on his face. Back and forth they fought as Knox and the others struggled to get free. But it wasn’t meant to be, the ice was just too strong and too much. Knox cursed his freezing feet and began to cast a spell of his own, hoping Luminous Surge would do the trick.

It blew away a fair bit of the ice but didn’t do the trick on the first go. Before he could get off another cast, he felt a spell finish and looked up to see a massive Celestial in golden armor appear on the battlefield.

“Do not fear, mortals,” it said, the voice that of an actual angel, warming each of them to their core upon hearing it. The Celestial had a massive spear and he slammed it on the ground, shattering the ice off all their feet just as Terrim fell to the ground, too still for Knox’s liking.
