Chapter 31

1982 – Glitterati

Georgiou and Candice's relationship continued as it had begun, passionately. They were both young exceedingly attractive and both at the peak of their physical best. They desired each other's bodies constantly and wasted no time in consuming their love for each other. They would think about each other all the time and when they weren't thinking of each other, they were with each other. They decided not to move in together immediately because of their track record with relationships. They did not want to spoil the spontaneity they had with boring domesticity, as they put it. They knew it would not be a transient affair and wanted it to carry on for as long as possible in the same vein it had begun.

They were becoming an item in society and everyone was curious about this young handsome man on the arm of Britain's most eligible debutante. They were applauded when they entered restaurants, complete strangers would ask for autographs and take photographs of them. Even more bizarrely, people would ask if they could be photographed with them.

They enjoyed going to all the right places and being seen with the right people. Georgiou was most happy with her when they were alone. He had made enough money to buy an impressive house in Holland Park and the first thing he installed was an indoor pool with hot tub and sauna. He loved to swim everyday and Candice enjoyed entertaining friends with pool parties. They had many memorable parties when celebrity friends would be in town and call round on the off chance of being entertained by this stylish couple.

Many parties would get out of control with people ending up naked and full sex orgies would ensue. Nothing was beyond the bounds of possibility with the London Glitterati during this time. It was the decadent eighties after all. Candice's idea of being faithful was to have sex with other men in Georgiou's presence. That was fine with Georgiou so long as he could do the same. He was not a possessive man, but he was enjoying the idea less and less as their relationship progressed. Georgiou felt he was growing as a person. He had enjoyed all manner of things. He had lived the wild life for many years and now he felt he could settle down with this fabulous creature. Was she prepared to do the same?

It was one evening over dinner that the idea finally took shape. He asked her directly what she wanted from their relationship. She was a little confused by the question but saw seriousness in Georgiou's eyes. She stared him directly in the face and stated “Marriage.” Georgiou was taken aback. He never expected the answer so readily. He was holding her hand and could not contain his excitement. He stood up and pulled her to him, knocking over a bottle of wine and sending it crashing to the floor bringing waiters rushing to salvage what was left of a beautifully laid table.
