So, this is it. I leave during the last song, along with some of the older crowd hoping to escape the parking lot before the real exodus begins.

Dark clouds have rolled in during the concert. Thunder rumbles, as though the heavens are angry at what I intend to attempt.

Security is good, really good. Not only are they used to dealing with rabid fans, but rabid shifters as well. I note they have several beta shifters, wolves by the look of them, patrolling outside by the tour bus. But I'm early, and in my fox form, I easily elude them. It's a talent of mine, sneaking into places where I'm not wanted. I grew up in the streets, often more alone than with my omega father. He never missed me, never cared whether I came home or not, until I ended up going to juvie.

I carry my clothing in my teeth. It would be humiliating to be naked confronting him. Letting it all hang out, while his pack judges me.

I get through the security line, darting through during a well-timed distraction. I reach a shadowy corner next to the stadium, and quickly dress again. If I have to, I can shift, and spring out of the clothing.

It feels like forever before they emerge, and they all do together, arm in arm. They are laughing, sharing a private joke, or are just really in a good mood. For a moment I forget to move, I almost let him slip away, as I stare at him. He’s so perfect, so handsome. I search for his scent, trying to separate him out from the others. There’s sweat mixed with the scent of each of them. The manager trails behind.

But it is Yukio's scent that gives me pause. It's subtly different. I know instinctively what that means.

Oh my god, he's pregnant.

I know that it is mine.

They are almost to their bus when I realize I cannot watch him forever.

The first drops of rain fall about us, as though the heavens now weep with my pain.

"Yukio!" I shout.

He and his friends turn as one.

I stare at Yukio's tummy. Is it a little bigger than before? They wear such tight clothing, yet I think if he shows it's just a tiny bump. I blink, forcing myself to look him in the eyes. There will be time enough to talk about a child, depending on how this conversation goes.

The manager, a wolf shifter I remember from the party, growls a threat, ready to step in and defend his pack. He's not even going to rely on security.

The alpha in me is always ready for a fight, though against a wolf there's a good chance I'll lose. We fox often run when confronted by the jaws of death.

But I can't run.

"Yukio, please. Talk to me. Just for a minute."

Yukio leans over and whispers something to one of his friends. For the life of me, I can't make out what he says.

The manager grabs me by the arm, and yanks me toward his face, suddenly filled with sharp fangs.
