CHAPTER 9

Emi

The fake fire sparkled around us. Roman was such an amazing man with a creative mind. He’d taken sex and partying to another level. And as we walked through this castle decorated from his fantastical merging of sex and history, I learned more about the world, people, him, and even myself.

I realized that all of that limiting myself from real connections with men, had taken away some of the joy in life. Each minute spent with Roman felt good. I relished in him—from his voice to the simple way he always kept his hands and lips on me.

At first, I thought it was all about lust and hormones. That only my pussy guided this craziness along, but now I was thinking it was something else. He told me that the next room would be the real reason why he needed me here. I knew everything would probably change after that room.

That was the real reason why I wanted to sit down. I had to prolong this moment between us longer. Enjoy him while I could, before I experienced the worst.

I squeezed his hand as it sat in my lap. “What are twin flames? I’ve never heard of that before.”

“Some ancient philosophers believe that at the moment of a soul’s creation it is split into two halves. One half is the divine masculine. The other is the divine feminine. So a twin flame is basically the other half of your soul.”

Say what?

I raised my eyebrows. “You think I’m the other half of your soul?”

“I think it’s worth exploring. I’m not a spiritual person, but I’m a fan of rituals and ancient beliefs. Many talk about the moment when you meet your twin flame. Energy burns inside of the person, so much that it makes him or her crazy. At times, they can only rid themselves of that hungry blaze, when they unite, their bodies slipping against each other, with no clothes or anything separating their flesh from each other.”

I blinked. “You’re really good.”

“What?”

“Like. . .you’re really good at getting women out of their panties.” I held up my hand. “And I’m trying to insult you. It’s just that ever since I’ve been around you, I’ve wanted to give you my panties, just take them off and let you do whatever you want with me and them.”

A smile appeared on his face. “I am good at getting women out of their panties, but for you, Emi, I’m not even trying to do that. You’re the one that’s enticing me. You’re the one that has me acting differently. You’re the one that has me so confused, I’m thinking about old mystic concepts of love and life.”

“I have you confused? My thoughts are chaotic. And it makes me nervous.”

“We could mean something to each other. More than sex. We should explore it.”

“But—”

He snared my attention away with a kiss. A hot one. Something blazing with fire, like twin flames. I burned with him.

He was the only drug I wanted to be intoxicated on. The only remedy to what I thought was a cure.
