Chapter Fourteen

When she came to, it was with an eye that was swollen closed. Her head hurt more than ever. Another five and ten dollar bill had been left for her, along with a full bottle of water.

She was still in her fabric igloo, but it was dark. The only light was coming from streetlights outside, along with muffled voices and the sound of traffic.

Her pants had been removed and tossed aside. She looked at them and found out why. She rolled them up and pushed them away.

She drank some water from the bottle that had been left for her. Her teeth stung. She licked with her tongue. Two were broken. She finished the water, curled into a ball, and went to sleep.
