Liz checked the time. The few girls that she had invited were starting to arrive, but she didn’t see the sweet, little Danish girl anywhere.

Just when she had given hope, Unni walked in the door and Liz knew that before the end of the night, Peter Sorenson would be planning out his proposal. Liz looked in Peter's direction; he had already noticed Unni and was heading in her direction.

“What does she have in her hands?” Dawn asked. “It looks like bread.”

Liz did a double take and noticed that Unni was indeed holding a loaf of bread. “Well, I guess since Peter is looking for a good cook, it's okay.”

The other girls in the room also noticed that Unni was holding bread. One particularly vicious fake platinum blonde woman made her way toward Unni.

“Are we going to stop the predators?” Dawn whispered to Liz.

“Let's see what Peter does,” Liz said and put a hand up to stop Dawn from interfering.

“Oh, look, the little country girl made some homemade bread,” the girl giggled like something out of Mean Girls.

“It looks like something my Grandmere used to make,” Peter said, coming in between Unni and the pouncing lion. “May I take a piece?”

Unni nodded and Peter tore off a slice, which made Liz hold her breath.

“Better than my grandmere's!” When Peter was satisfied with the bread, Liz released her breath.

“Oh, thank you,” Unni said modestly. She gave the whole loaf over to Peter. “It's my grandmere's recipe. I made this for you.”

“I think we found a match,” Liz said and gave Dawn an underhanded high five. “I think I need to start trusting my gut more often. These gut matches are way more fun than going through the whole process.”

The party continued for about an hour, and Peter milled around with all of the women. He was a complete jerk to all of them except for Unni, who he kept always at his side. Liz could tell that a lot of the girls were getting irritated at both the way Peter was treating them and how he kept fawning over Unni. Liz quickly had to step in and suggest individual date time with Peter.

“I only want to talk to Unni,” Peter said.

“Are you sure?” Liz asked, still not wanting to rule out anyone.

“Just send the rest of the whores home!”

Liz bit her lip. These women were not whores. Some of them had successful careers in their own right and many were well educated, and not to mention gorgeous. Just because they didn't want to have fifteen children or be tied to the kitchen didn't make them whores.

“Fine.” Liz turned on her heels and marched out of the room.

She coached Unni briefly before she let the young woman loose in the room with Peter. Dawn and Liz watched from behind a mirror that allowed them to see into the room.

“I'm curious to see how this one goes,” Dawn said. They watched Peter seat Unni next to him and carefully take her hand. “I'm a little nervous for this girl.
