Well, it's over and everything sold! Star item was the art deco jug, which was the only exciting bit. Everything else got about bottom estimate, which was a bit disappointing. It was an odd event in as much as you felt a huge disconnect 'twixt yourself and the item being sold. It was also freezing and no seats as the more experienced mob got there early and nabbed the chairs and sofas.

If I learned one valuable lesson today it was don't ever collect cut glass or silver plate however nice it may look. Frankly, a lot of glass didn't sell. No bidders, and the plate sold for about 1p in the pound of what it must have cost new in a shop. The art deco jug...the bidding started at £200 in the room and then the Internet bidders jumped in and it went up by £10 increments to £490. That was exhilarating.
