It isn’t a walk in the park to maintain Barbero’s looks and lifestyle. He is a committed member of the controversial Traditional Zombie Values Group and thus only eats actual human flesh. “I’ve never eaten someone against their will or purchased flesh from a skimp or flesher. I eat only certified, organic, donated flesh and brains,” Barbero assures. “It’s my lifestyle choice. It’s expensive to maintain and I’m hungry a lot. An ounce of fresh brain can cost up to $100 an ounce. You wouldn’t be gorging yourself either if you ate like that.”

Barbero doesn’t disagree with many zombies’ choice to go synthetic, but it’s one he would never make for himself. “Most of the time zombies haven’t experienced the rich, meaty flavor of human flesh so they don’t know what they’re missing. If they did, there would be a lot more Traditionalists like myself.”
