The Japanese Occupation

1942

The cadastral case of the two parties took years in court as there were normally inevitable events that had hindered the legal process and one of these was the change and turnover of the litigation to different jurists and replacements of counsel by both parties. Likewise, personal circumstances in the normal course of life and dilatory tactics of the defense in particular where there were hearsays that some counsels of the defense were attempting to manipulate the course of proceedings by means of bribery and pirating the counsels of the plaintiffs.

While these circumstances had been hampering the proceedings, one American counsel had been having pleasantries with Margarita who eventually responded to the intimate relationship with the former decided to marry and left for the United States. Margarita’s children in their ripened years took over their family business and got dominion to each own partitioned estate, respectively, however, Patricia and Adelaida, the two children of Margarita went with her to settle for good in the US. Adorable, Leonardo and David remained in their old mansion to take care of the property.

Since the Revilleras had already partitioned their estate, the encroached and remaining two hundred and fifty hectares of land that had been under litigation remained in the custody of Adorable and their legal counsels. As life progressed in the region there was an apparent influx of people establishing their settlement as commercialism had flourished. In effect, there was a need to expand for the growing population and economy as the value of real estate had to be adjusted to its profitable return. The Revillera brothers had to dispose of off portions of their land to avail of the growing economy and the influx of population. They were even indulged in various luxuries, vices, and convenience of life. Adorable continued the old family business and two avoid conflict with his two brothers he offered to buy from them their interests in the business when David and Leonardo suffered an economic set back in their own businesses, respectively. David, a casino operator was indulged in the nature of his business gradually lost his fortune that drove him to dispose of his estate to grow other businesses, but most of his ventures were a fiasco. Adorable got married and had three children, Felipe, Ramon, and Constancia while Leonardo had two children, Modesto and Lauro, however, David, being indulged in his personal and business activity remained single.

“ You should realize that I also have plenty of obligations to perform. I have a family to rear my support and creditors waiting for their payouts.” Adorable said.

“ It so happened that my operations are not doing well and I need a much bigger capital to fill in its financial requirements,” David asked.

“ How about disposing of your remaining estate? Adorable asked.

“ There is only a meager tract of land left for me after disposing of it previously,” David added.

“ I have lent you a huge amount before and yet, have not fully paid it.
