CHAPTER SIX

When I set out on creating this show, I'd severely underestimated the work that went into this shit.

I was sure that the show Paige was referring to probably had a whole staff of different people to handle different things of production, but I definitely didn't have all that. I had a vision that I saw for this show, but bringing it to life was a different ballgame I hadn't been prepared for. While the guys spent their time at their respective clubs, I was constantly on the phone with one person or another. Setting up partnerships with bridal stores, limo services, hair and makeup professionals, as well as finding more people to add to our production company, as Duncan and Chris couldn't do everything on their own.

Glancing down at my watch, I noticed that it was lunch time, which was the only time the guys and I could meet to discuss progress with the show. I placed an order for sushi and headed to the conference room, using the alone time to decompress before the guys arrived. After killing Carroway and Kelly, the dark cloud following me that'd been suppressing my murderous urges seemed to lift as soon as both of them ceased to exist. Maybe it was the fucking cop fucking my head up. It was hard to let loose knowing there were intentional eyes on you, especially when their goal was to take you down.

Laughter and chatter filled the hall outside of the conference room before the guys appeared, Alex holding the bag of sushi. They all took their seats, as Alex unpacked the bag and handed everyone their order before taking his seat. Chris looked to me before taking a piece of his salon roe roll into his mouth.

"So? What's been going on?" he asked around his food.

"Have some goddamn respect, Chris," I mumbled, rolling my eyes as the display. "Anyway, the lawyers have said that all the girls we've picked have signed their contracts and the NDAs required for them to participate."

Before we could let them in, they needed to sign NDA in the rare event that someone escaped or if the winner thought she could run to the police the minute she was free. The contracts were a more delicate matter. The women thought they were only signing release forms that gave us permission to film them and use them in promotions for the show, but it was really was for them to give up the physical rights to their body in the event that we wanted to sell them or their organs on the black market. It wasn't that we actually needed their permission, but it would've covered a few legal bases if I needed it to.

"And all of them signed?" Malcolm asked.

I nodded, putting wasabi on my tuna roll and putting it into my mouth. "Of course they did. And I wasn't surprised. Every bitch in Club Tulip is fucking vain, and they all think they have an actual chance with me."

"Have some goddamn respect, Caesar," Chris threw back at me with a smirk, repeating what I'd said to him.
