The weeks were going by quickly and while I knew what Snow and Dru said about the trial, that still didn’t stop me from being nervous. This time it wasn’t even because of the trial. Fuck the trial, it was because I didn’t know what Scar had planned. You just never knew with him. I was pissed because I still didn’t have solid offers on the mansion and few offers from potential buyers didn’t work because the financing fell through for whatever reason. On the other hand, Snow’s twenty second birthday was coming up in a week and I was trying to plan something for him. I knew that he and Mani were going to Jamaica but I still wanted to do something for him on my own so I had Lorraine coming over to help me put something together.

While I waited on her, I called Dru in response to a text that he sent me earlier. We had been avoiding each other for the most part after that kiss and the last time that I’d seen him was at Mani’s doctor’s appointment and we hadn’t spoken much since. “Hey Dru,” I cooed into the phone.

“Wussup Michelle, how you doing?” He asked in his deep voice.

“I’m okay, I’m just seeing your text message from earlier.” I lied. I had seen the text. I just chose not to call right then.

“It’s cool, I gave Mani permission to go to Jamaica with Snow but you think she’ll be okay being that she’s pregnant and all? This shit here is stressing me out. If it were up to me she’d sit in this mu’fuckin’ house getting catered to all day until my grandbaby got here.”

I couldn’t help but to laugh. I thought it was so cute that he was so concerned and on point with everything. “She’ll be fine Dru. We’re doing everything right. She has the best doctors and a top of the line chef to make sure she’s eating properly. If the doctor cleared her, she’s good. It’s best you let her have some fun right now because when she gets big, she’s going to be miserable and she’s going to want to sit her ass down somewhere anyway, trust me.”

“Aiight, that makes me feel a lil better. I just don’t want to seem like the daddy that’s always tripping and shit.”

“Trust me, you’re good. If I see a flaw anywhere, I’ll stop her just as quickly as you. That’s my grandbaby too, you know.”

“Yeah, you right about that. Well you enjoy the rest of yo day miss lady. I’ll check-in in a few days.”

“Okay, no problem.” I said before hanging up wishing that it would’ve lasted just a little longer. I was just getting ready to get Lorraine on the phone and curse her ass out because she still hadn’t shown up but just as I was about to call, she called first.

“Michelle!” She blurted like she had something really important to say. Knowing my sister, she didn’t. She just wanted to be dramatic.
