“I know what you’re doing.”

She corners me when I’m alone, when I’m in the side hallway that leads to the restrooms and the staff-only area.

Out of the view of my father.

Krissa sidles up next to me, leaning against the wall that’s at my back, and situates herself to make sure I can see the deep V of her cleavage.

It’s so obvious now, how she used her assets to try to manipulate me. I think a lot of men find it sexy because they don’t see the manipulation part. They can’t identify that they’re being pressured into things because they’re blinded by the big titties in their face.

Or, they’re willing to go along with whatever because they want those big titties in their face. The lips wrapped around their dick. A warm piece of property to slide into whenever they snap their fingers.

I was definitely the former.

I’m assuming my father is the latter.

Though I’m also assuming he wouldn’t be so happy finding out his property is sticking those tits in someone else’s face.

Especially mine.

“Oh, and what is that?” I ask.

I shouldn’t care what she has to say. I don’t care, actually, but I can’t miss an opportunity to best her at her own game, and I have a pretty good feeling I know what’s coming my way.

Krissa bats her eyelashes and looks at me with eyes that say she knows I want her.

She couldn’t be more wrong.

“You’re trying to replace me.”

I laugh.

“You’re laughing at me, but it’s true. I know it is because I know how you looked at me, and that’s not how you look at her. Remmy Wallace.”

She says Remmy’s name like it’s dirty, drawing out the S sound at the end like it’s gum she’s trying to wipe off her shoe against the pavement.

“Krissa, I know it’s hard for you to grasp, but the world does not revolve around you.”

Her eyes narrow.

“My dad may have decided you were worth ruining his life for, but I could not be more thankful that he showed me your true colors.”

She gasps. “Mine!? You act like I was working alone. Your dad came after me, not the other way around.”

“I know, but I already knew my dad was a selfish asshole. You, on the other hand…you I didn’t see coming. And that was my own fault.”

I lean close to Krissa, reaching down and tugging lightly on some of the hair extensions she wears now, my face inches from hers.

She’s a cheap imitation of what I know I truly want, even if I doubt I’ll ever allow myself to have it.

“I don’t forgive people who try to manipulate me for their own gain,” I whisper, giving her a smile that’s nothing but shark teeth.

She looks furious.

I shouldn’t want to waste my energy on her. Usually I don’t, but there is something so wonderful about thinking of exactly the right thing to say at exactly the right time, especially when it’s directed at someone who sent an earthquake through the foundation of your life.

Krissa was that person in mine.
