Dating Obie was different than merely liking sex with him. But when I told him in a kind of douche-y way one night that apparently we were dating now, he looked at me like I was nuts.

“What’d you think we were doing?”

“Hooking up? Fucking?”

“The first time I came over we watched TV and ate popcorn.”

“And you blew me.”

He shrugged. “Which was good, but if I hadn’t, we still would have gotten together again. It’s funny you were in denial about us dating.”

“I take it fucking back. We’re not dating.”

“Wanna bet?” He set his computer on the coffee table and knelt over me. “Tell me how much you love dating me, Emerson. Tell me how much you want it.”

“Get off.”

He rubbed his goatee against my cheek like his lips had a commute. “You love it. You think I’m funny and hot. Say it.”

“I think you’re tolerably good in the sack.”

Damn him laughing at me. I grabbed him by the back of the neck and kissed him breathless.
