The next element that we incorporate into the FASTer Way to Fat Loss is fasted cardio or metabolic training. This is where we exercise with the right amount of high intensity interval training (HIIT) and Tabata. (Tabata is where we get the heart rate up with twenty seconds of high intensity work, followed by ten seconds of rest, for eight rounds or four minutes.)
Here’s a little secret: your body doesn't care how you get your heart rate up and deplete your glycogen stores. Your body just cares that you do. It may not be perfect, and that’s fine. Remember: we focus on progress over perfection.
Our HIIT days typically coincide with low-carb days. Our high intensity intervals may include progressive HIIT circuits, sprints, and sprint drill type training. Many times, we incorporate low-impact for people coming in without much experience working out. The whole purpose is getting our heart rate up, depleting our glycogen stores, and burning triglycerides (or fat) for fuel.
