“Ooooh I know that look. Kadence got some cutty last night.”

Everyone burst in to laughter at Natasha’s remark. She had only been awaked for about two hours and she was already her normal self. Even the doctors were surprised by her speedy recovery. My girl was a fighter so I wasn’t shocked at all.

“Shut up bitch.”

“Ooooh Kadence said a bad word daddy. Are you going to whoop her?”

I turned to look at Samara making a silly face at her. She was already a daddy’s girl and hadn’t even been with Chris for two whole days. I couldn’t blame her though; he was just that type of person to make you feel comfortable. In this short amount of time even I had grown to love Samara and I had only known her for about three hours. It was easy though, seeing as how she is Chris’ daughter. Although they just met, she had every bit of his personality.

“I’ma make sure I whoop her good. As soon as we get home princess.”

I laughed because I knew what he was implying.

“You gone whoop a baby in her, huh bruh?”

I threw my pillow at Tonio.

“I’m just saying. This nigga down pulled a disappearing act on all of us and now he back like he never left.” Tonio shook his head. “I still can’t believe that shit.”

I couldn’t believe it either, but damn was I glad to see him. I didn’t know if this feeling in my heart would ever go away. It was like my heart was glowing with happiness and I didn’t want it to end.

“How you feeling Tasha?” I asked to change the subject.

“I’m good. I’ll be even better when they let me hold my baby.” I tried to sympathize with her. I knew it was not a good feeling to be separated from your child right after birth. I was glad her son made it because I would have hated for her to feel what I felt all those years ago. I may not have been ready for a child, but it didn’t stop me from loving the little person I carried for nine months.

“It will probably only be a little longer. Before you know it he will be in your arms driving you crazy like Makani.” I smiled to warm her worrying heart.

“Oh shit that reminds me. Do y’all mind if we go pick up Makani from your moms I want to take her to Samara’s birthday party.” Chris asked.

“Yeah its cool. I will call my moms and let her know. Just make sure Kadence is with you because Makani don’t trust everyone. She will give you hell have people thinking you done kidnapped her.” Tonio was laughing but I knew he was dead serious. Tasha, Tonio, and I personally took turns staying with her at school for two weeks when she first started.

“Oh trust me. I will need Kadence there to help me with these two. I don’t know a thing about kids.”

“Shit. I still can’t believe you a dad.
