Vasily

“I can’t believe that bastard fucking ruined my suit.” I look down at the blood splattered all over my newest Tom Ford and let out another angry string of Russian.

Ilya laughs and smacks my shoulder. “That’s what happens when you nearly slice a man in two, Vasya.”

I hadn’t meant to be so aggressive, but the thought of this bastard forcing his way into my Nina had sent me into an all-consuming rage. I’d lost myself completely in my anger, and by the time I’d gotten control of the situation, the man was closer to two pieces instead of one, well, more like closer to several pieces instead of one.

“On the plus side, you did make it a lot easier for the guys to get rid of the body,” Andrei says.

“We’re not getting rid of it,” I tell them. “It’s time to scare the hell out of this city. Let them all see what happens when you hurt what belongs to me.”

Ilya and Andrei look down at the bloody mess at our feet. We’d caught him on his way home from work and dragged him down a side street that didn’t have any security cameras. They’d stood guard while I’d lost it, and now the man is sprawled out and so disfigured that not even his own mother would be able to identify him.

We leave him there to rot, and while Andrei drives us back, I check my phone yet again. She hasn’t texted or called, and I’m not sure what to think about that. I know she’s safe. I’ve got men watching the house and Ruslan is with her. No way in fuck is anyone getting to her. I wish she would’ve texted, though. I’m guessing she thought she’d be bothering me if she did. I’ll need to get thoughts like that out of her head quickly. I don’t want her thinking for one second that she’s not the most important thing to me. She’s my first priority. Everything else is second. Probably not how a Bratva boss should feel, but it’s the truth of things. Nina went from being a responsibility to being absolutely everything. I never thought I’d fall in love, and I sure as fuck never thought it would happen this quickly if it did, but I have, and there’s no going back.

When we get to the house, Andrei slips off to find Svetlana while Ilya and I go inside the main house. He heads straight for his room, no doubt going to take a quick shower so he can go out and find some pussy to bring back. Before going upstairs, I stop in the kitchen to pour myself a very large vodka.
