Chapter Six
“You seem shaken.”
Jimmy set his bag aside and looked around his apartment. It was even cleaner than when he’d left it. The clothes were no longer on the couch, and the place held a citrus scent. He noticed the oven was on, and that was when he smelled pot roast.
“What're you doing here?” He turned to face Ethan, still rattled from seeing Hank. He couldn’t stop seeing that lecherous smile and eyes that said he wanted to bring Jimmy pain. The last he’d heard Hank had moved to New York. Why had he returned, and why was he hanging out at the lounge?
“I got caught up with something earlier. That’s why I didn’t call.” Ethan laid a hand on his shoulder. Jimmy closed his eyes, soaking up his presence—the warmth and security he felt whenever Ethan was around.
“That still doesn’t answer my question.” He wanted Ethan to keep talking so he could hear the soothing sound of his voice. Jimmy needed that voice to clear the cobwebs from his head, to drown out Hank’s words.
“I gave you sturdier locks, cleaned up a bit, and started dinner.”
Ethan didn’t know that he’d already eaten, and Jimmy wouldn’t tell him. Not when the guy had gone out of his way for him.
“Now tell me what has you so spooked.” Ethan’s voice was closer, as though he was leaning toward him, and then Jimmy knew he was because he felt the tickle of Ethan’s beard. His hand still rested on Jimmy’s shoulder, his strength and his reassurance telling Jimmy that he was safe from the outside world.
“I’ve just had a long day.” He didn’t want to share the humiliation of his senior year, to relive it over again. Hank had done that already—unburied Jimmy’s past with his presence. He just wanted to forget, to erase everything about Hank from his mind—his face, the way he had called out to Jimmy, and the way Hank had looked at him as though he were worthless.
Ethan guided him to the couch and made him sit. Then he bent and removed Jimmy’s shoes and socks. Ethan took Jimmy’s right foot into his hand and massaged it, his thumbs making a circle pattern on his arch.
The more his fingers worked their magic, the more Hank faded from his mind. He sank deeper into the couch, moaning as Ethan lowered his right foot then lifted his left into his hands.
Ethan sat on the couch, moving Jimmy until he was lying on his back and his feet were resting on the man’s thighs.
“Why’re you here?” Jimmy hadn’t thought Ethan would return.
“I didn’t know I needed a reason to come by.” Ethan’s smile made his insides flutter. “I enjoyed your company, Jimmy.”
Hearing his name on Ethan’s lips made his cock harden. He didn’t try to hide the effect Ethan had on him, either. He just lay there, Ethan’s clay to mold as his fingers started working their way up his calf.
This was what he’d been craving—a man to come home to, a guy who pampered him, who looked at Jimmy as more than someone to have sex with.
