With hands intertwined, their seamless connection evident in both their personal relationship and daily routine, Armand and Reine moved through the restaurant. Jasmine approached them with a smile that, while welcoming, carried a hint of uncertainty.

"Good morning, Boss. Good morning, Armand."

Picking up on the subtle shift in her tone, he said, "Morning, Jasmine. What's on the agenda today? Anything out of the ordinary?"

She hesitated before diving into the heart of the matter. "Well, there was something strange this morning. A woman called asking specifically if Reine would be in today. That's not unusual, but when I offered to relay a message, all she said was, 'Tell her Runner called.' It struck me as odd, but I didn't want to pry too much without talking to you first."

Reine and Armand shared a brief, knowing look, recognition flickering between them. With measured curiosity, he asked, "Did she sound British by any chance?"

Pondering for a moment, Jasmine nodded slowly, "Now that I think about it, yes, there was an accent. I didn't catch it at first, but she did sound British."

Simultaneously, they uttered, "Attesor." The name seemed to hang in the air, unwrapping a mystery. Jasmine, caught in confusion, asked, "Who?"

"Attesor P. Sniknej, our dearest friend from London. I met her as a teenager during my visits with my grandparents," Reine provided some context. "Did she leave a number?"

"No, Boss. She just stated she would call back."

The mention of the name 'Runner' floated between them, stirring a link to shared memories. Once seated, Reine looked towards him, her gaze filled with definitive understanding. "It has to be Attesor. I don't know anyone else with the nickname 'Runner.'"

"Absolutely, babe." He leaned forward, his expression marked by a curious frown, his eyes sparkling with intrigue. "But why would she be here in New York all of a sudden?"

Reine pondered for a moment before responding, "She's probably here on business. Last time we spoke, she was still involved with the United Nations." Her voice held a note of confidence, providing a logical reason for their friend's presence in the city.

Excitement was evident in his gaze as an idea took shape. "When she calls back, let's extend an invitation for dinner tonight, assuming she's free. It would be great to catch up," he suggested, his interest clear in his voice, already welcoming the chance for a reunion.

"Agreed," she confirmed with a supportive tone, in sync with his plan.

As he stood to leave, he shared a tender kiss with Reine, an affectionate gesture. "I need to head out. We'll talk more later," he whispered, his words "Love you" hanging softly in the air as he departed.

"I love you too," she murmured softly. She sat back slightly in her chair, the thought of seeing Attesor again adding a surprising thread of sentiment to her day.

Her reflections were interrupted by Jasmine's voice, "Boss, your friend is on the line," she said, her tone laced with curiosity.
