We made it just around the corner before a scream ripped through the air. "Where the fuck is she!"

"Hurry." Viktoriya pulled me forward, I gripped the chain and hurried, the key clenched between my fingers.

Screams tore through the hallway, coming from that room deeper in the house. The room where I knew women were traded like cattle, pushed into the truck that waited outside with the engine running. But we weren’t headed there, Viktoriya turned motioning me forward.

"What the fuck!” Ollie roared.

I knew he saw us; knew he was coming. Thunderous steps rang as I dried myself toward the door at the end of the hallway and lifted my shaking hand.

"The bastard’s getting free!” Ollie screamed. “Hey! He’s getting free.”

The crack of a gunshot rang out, slamming into the plaster above my head. I jerked my gaze over my shoulder as they came for us. "Move!" I roared.

I grabbed her, charging forward, gripping the keys and shoved them into the lock. But the first key didn't work, and with trembling hands, I try the other, twisting it before the lock gave way. The door swung inwards, but outside was another door, a gated wall of steel.

I grabbed the other key, shoving it into the lock and twist it again. The gate swung open, leaving us to tumble free.

Boom.

Another shot rang out, only this time it was outside. Screams erupted, roaring from behind us and coming from the front.

"Run!" I screamed, shoving her forward as a sonofabitch lunged behind us.

Agony slammed into me, as he took me to the ground. I fought, driving the chain into his face and heard the crunch. Viktoriya lunged, landing on his back, clawing at his face, like a wildcat. I drove my body from the floor, and slammed my fist into his face, until the bastard stopped screaming.

Boom!

I bucked as the bullet grazed my shoulder. There were more men coming, charging around the side of the house, heading toward us. I grabbed Viktoriya, dragging her free, trying to push her in front of me, but Ollie wound his fingers around her hair and yanked her in place.

"Run!" She screamed, her eyes wide and haunted. “Baldeon run!"

Boom. A bullet slammed into the wall beside my head. I lunged toward her, until he opened fired. There's nothing I could do. Ollie had his arm around her, holding her against him. "The fuck you are, Russian bitch. Get him, someone get him!"

Dollar and Hawk came charging from inside the house. I wanted to stay and fight, I was desperate to get her free, but I couldn't. I did the only thing I could do, I ran.

Bullets peppered the ground all around me as I stumbled backwards, unable to tear my gaze from her until last moment.

"Run!" She screamed. “RUN!”

I gripped the chain, desperation roaring inside me. Agony ripped through my side with the crack of a gunshot, pitching me forward. All I saw was darkness rushing toward me as I stumbled forward until I left the house behind. Trees swarmed in on all sides as I ran.
