I’m really glad to come out in the open and be able to tell Trojan that I’ve met with Brody at his offices. I’m convinced that he doesn’t know about the night I spent with Brody. I’d like nothing more than to come clean with him about Brody and I spending the night together, but I worry about Brody’s safety. And mine.

Since I went to see Brody simply because I wanted to save Trojan’s hide, for the shit he caused in the first place and since Trojan pulled the same shit before Brody did; I’ve decided not to beat myself up about it.

If it sounds like I’m trying to justify what I did …perhaps I am. But I would never have gone to Brody had it not been to save Trojan’s ass.

Grover is here to offer me moral support and to make sure things don’t get physical.

We take a seat around the table while Trojan makes us coffee. If he’s surprised to see us at his place, he doesn’t show it.

In my mind, I try to work out exactly how I’m gonna broach the subject. Should I come right out, or beat around the bush first.

When Trojan sits at the table, I say, “Trojan, there’s something I need to tell you.”

Silence. His eyes are fastened to the cup of coffee in front of him.

“A couple of months ago, I went to see Brody McGraw at his offices to get some help.” There I’ve said it. It’s now in the open and he can question me, accuse me or whatever – I’ll just have to handle it.

He spins around, grabs my face and turns it to look at him, his eyes bulging. I fight his hands off.

“Hey!” Grover shouts.

“Trojan, stop!” Sofia screams.

Trojan grabs a fistful of my hair hard and twists my face towards his. I writhe in agony as I try to pry his hand out of my hair.

“Why the fuck did you do that, Burn? Why?”

“Trojan, stop!” Grover is already on his feet and making his way to our side of the table.

Trojan grabs harder, pushes me deeper into my seat and puts his face in mine. “I fucking asked you a question?”

Grover yanks him off me.

I grab a steak knife from the table and slash at him. He jumps, missing it by inches.

Stunned, everyone looks at me. “You fucking touch me again, motherfucker, I swear I stick you with this! I promise. Don’t EVER touch me again. I mean it.”

“Burn, put the knife down!” Grover says. “Now!”

“You fucking ho!” Trojan snarls, trying to push past Grover. “I will fucking kill you, Burn.”

“Hey! Hey! Hey!” Grover says. “Calm down, will you? Let her speak. Let her speak, man.”

“So she can what – tell me more ...?”

“Let her speak!” Grover says.

Trojan looks at me, his eyes mere slits.

I take a deep breath. “Trojan … I went to see Brody to ask him to help me with you – to use some muscle and to … to get them to … to lay off you.
