Travel Well, My Love

THAT “GOODBYE” HUG, not like Boone was going away forever. He said that he will come back in no time. Hanaya waved at him as he drove off with her father. Couldn’t he stay for a while? It looked like someone was missing him already, his junior sister; the godchild is leaving us again. Who will play “wrecking ball” with us? Moreso, he will not be around to attend my party;no one finally stays; all of them are the same;everyone disappears like harmattan wind but it’s alright, one day, I will fly away with them. Those were the thoughts of a caring, loving girl, someone who felt abandoned; Hanaya. She spoke about the departure of Boone, the godchild to her parents, the new family friend. To her, he was more than a godchild; look at how her mother loved him like a child she gave birth to. In those days, Martha would give Boone work to do for her, he was hard-working. We love him so much hoping to have him with us all the time. Now he comes and goes away like the wind,” Hanaya thought.

“You said that you will come again in no time. That is so vague,” Nathan said while driving him to the travel agency site.

“I said so, if I find no excuse, you people may see me next week. My job is so tight, not to talk of taking a break. There are so many things to do for the company.” Boone said.

“Without a doubt, you must be a respected somebody, I am happy for you,” Nathan said.

Nathan and Boone discussed as they drove off to the travel agency “Express Voyage” When they arrived at the agency, Nathan hugged his godchild as he said"Have a safe journey;Son; see you soon. Do not forget to call us when you get to Central City.”He then drove back to his house.

At the counter, he met a fat-jawed woman. As he came closer, he asked if there was a ticket for him for a midnight journey to Central City.

“Hello, there, can I get a ticket for Central City?” He inquired.

“Habilia, yes handsome man we have a ticket for you, also you can take me along with you if you don’t mind,” the woman said.

“No, it’s fine, get me the ticket, please,” Boone said.

He got his ticket and was waiting for the clock to tick to midnight when his plane would take off.

A few minutes later, he received a text message from Hanaya that read “Thank you so much for coming to see us, thank you for the gift,” she wrote.

“You are welcome, Hanaya,” Boone texted back.

Hanaya could not geta sleep, so she continued texting Boone.

“Have a safe trip my dearest, do not forget to come back as you promised, we shall be waiting for you,” she texted;

“I will call back,” Boone said.

He sat down on a chair made of stainless steel at the agency. Other passengers were there seated, waiting for the clock to tick to midnight, when their plane would take off to Central City.
