The morning sunlight is seeping through the curtains. I’m lying here naked in bed next to a naked guy, the hottest guy I’ve ever had sex with. I’ve got people after me; my friends don’t know where the hell I am; my family is probably worried sick about me, but I don’t want to get out of this bed. I just want to stay here with Alex and never move, forget there’s a world out there.

I look at Alex and kiss him on his cheek. He opens his eyes and kisses me on the lips. “Good morning,” he says.

“Good morning, yourself.”

“How are you feeling?”

I snuggle up to him. “Like my world is crashing down, but I’m here with you. So that’s all I can think about.”

“I’m coming up with a plan for us. I won’t let anything happen to us.”

“Alex, those men are after you, but with the police working the case, they’ll be after you too.”

“I know, but you’ll be safe. I’ll do everything to keep you safe.”

I hug Alex tighter, looking him in the face. “I don’t want to think about it.”

“Yeah, I don’t either. I’ll go take a shower and then make us some breakfast, okay?”

“Okay.”
