A Single Girls Guide to Birth control…

Condoms fidanzata are molto inconvenient. I know, I know, I know that until you’re committed (which we all know I’m not) and tested (which we all know is a waste of time till you’re committed) they’re the only way to go. But let’s think for a moment about why no one has come up with a more convenient form of birth control.

Speaking of birth control… does anyone know about the best all-night place to buy condoms?

When I woke up, your face was the first thing that I saw.” Hank whispers, trailing his finger along my cheek.

“Hmmm, that could be because you’re wrapped around me… or I’m wrapped around you. Is it hot in here, or is it just me?” I ask, turning my face into the muscular column of his throat.

“I mean in the hospital. When I woke up, I saw your face.” He pulls away from me and sits up. There’s light coming in a thin sliver around the window. I’m not sure if it’s first light or last. We’ve spent almost three solid days in bed, so the time of day has been nearly irrelevant.

“That’s good. That means that there’s surely not someone waiting for you, right?” I ask sitting up and kissing his shoulder.

“What if it means something more? What if…”

“What if what?” This doesn’t happen often, but occasionally he does this; wakes up in the middle of the night or comes into the kitchen when I’m cooking or in my office working, and he worries. Anyone who didn’t know their own name would worry. I worry too, but I try to be strong for him.

“What if you were right about the criminal thing but it was… more? What if I’m a stalker?”

“You’re not a stalker. I’m not famous enough to have a stalker.” I say dismissively.

He turns around and kisses me. “You have a blog that goes out all over the web every day. It has your picture on it.”

“She doesn’t even look like me.”

“You’re even more beautiful than that picture of you.” He frames my face with his hands.

“I’d never get a hot stalker like you. I’d get some SWF who wants to share my clothes and make a wig out of my hair.” I pull his face towards me and kiss him deeply. “Which face did you see?”

He thinks for a minute and then he smiles. “This face.”

“There you go. You’re not a stalker. What time is it?”

“5:30… pm. Carolee called while you were asleep. You’re avoiding her.”

“I’ve talked to her.” I argue pulling away from him and reaching for the Old Navy sweatshirt that I wear all the time because it smells like him.

“You’re avoiding your best friend and your mom because of me. Because you can’t tell your best friend and your mom that you’re living with a guy who doesn’t know his name. I can’t get a job because I don’t have a name or a social security number or a birthdate.”

“Okay, you’ve gotten paid for fixing three cars this week and your selling firewood.
