Sculpting Movement: Exhale as you bring your wrists together, straight over your head, straightening your elbows slightly as you complete the movement. Your thumbs should be facing upward. Hold the contraction for 1 to 2 seconds. Inhale as you return to the starting position.

MIND-BODY CONNECTION

Before you start, find your pectoralis minor (upper chest muscle), which is the major muscle targeted by this exercise. Place your right hand on the left side of your chest as if you were saying the Pledge of Allegiance. This is the area you’ll be working. Focus on this area as you perform the exercise.
