I’m spinning so many plates at the moment that it’s getting harder and harder to keep them all going. As soon as I start giving too much attention to one plate, I notice another is about to go. That’s when I find myself suddenly scrambling to fix things, which is what I’m doing right now. It’s the reason I’m at Dirty Di’s. But it’s not what you think.

Jen seems delighted to see me when I walk through the door, although potentially she’s just pleased to see someone walk through the door, because the place is dead, just like it was last time.

‘Serena, hello,’ she says brightly. ‘I was wondering when we’d see you again. Oliver is in the office, he said he was going to call you.’

‘Oh, right, well, I’ll pop through to see him, but it’s actually you I’m here to see,’ I reply.

‘Exciting,’ she says. ‘Well, I’ll be here.’

I step into the office and close the door behind me.

‘You’re back,’ Oliver points out. ‘I was just going to call you.’

‘Yeah?’

‘Yeah, just to see if you’d thought any more about your plan of action,’ he replies.

‘To be honest…’ I lower my voice. ‘I think I’m going to need to sell up. I know, I probably won’t get anything for the business, but we might get a bit for the stock. Basically, I need money, fast, and I’ll take whatever I can get.’

‘Is everything okay?’ Oliver asks, concerned, which is touching, although thinking about it, what I just said did sound quite alarming.

‘Everything is fine,’ I insist. ‘I just have some big bills coming up, I need to get the money together for them.’

‘Okay then, I’ll see what I can do.’

‘Thanks,’ I reply.

I head back into the shop where Jen is waiting with a big smile on her face.

It’s so dim in here – do adult stores have to be this dark? I understand that it’s probably not a good idea to have a wall of dildos on display next to a large window, where kids might see the display, and shoppers might feel embarrassed browsing in front of passers-by, but I can’t help but feel like this place is not inviting at all.

‘So, come on then, what can I do for you?’ she asks curiously.

‘I need some underwear that will make a grown man’s head spin,’ I tell her very matter-of-factly.

‘You’re in luck then, because we have lots of that here,’ she replies.

Yep, that’s why I’m here, to get myself something so ridiculously sexy that Dean would crawl over broken glass just to get his hands on me.

After Ziggy and I made all the calls we needed to, to try to get Taylor and Tim’s lounge back to the way it should be, I realised I had missed calls and messages from Dean, from the night before. He obviously got boozed up with his boys and then decided to booty call me instead of going home to his fiancée. I suppose it makes sense, to a cheater, might as well nip over and bang the other woman while your missus thinks you’re out with your friends.
