“I love you, Morgan!” The words expel from my lips like a rocket launching at its target.

I need him to understand this isn’t just physical for me. I started believing in love again through his presence, and despite my anger, I fell in love with him the hardest through his absence. And now I know why.

The silence is deafening between us, the air thick, and Morgan’s wide eyes are yet to leave my face.

I let out a strangled moan, melting into Morgan’s body as he sneaks an arm behind my lower back. My mouth opens for him, and he doesn’t hesitate to slide his tongue inside. Tasting me. Reclaiming me. Worshipping me.

Morgan’s tentative strokes act as a tonic to my wounded heart, and based on the sounds coming from the back of his throat, I’d say it’s doing the same for him.

The room around us fades away as we lose ourselves in each other.

There’s no more heartbreak.

No more mistakes.

No more lies.

The world may burn tomorrow, but right now, as Morgan shifts on top of me and guides my back to the floor, nothing seems as important as making up for lost time.

“Tell me,” he grits out, trailing kisses along my jaw and down my neck.

I don’t even need to ask what he wants to hear, because my lips are already moving on their own volition.

“I love you, Morgan.” I moan, gripping the hairs at the top of his head.

“Fuck, I love you too, savage girl.” He bites down on the crook of my neck and I cry out, feeling so much, too much, and my body can’t take it.

But yet it still craves more.

“I want you.” I pull his head up by his hair and lean in to meet his lips again.

Morgan groans into the kiss, deepening it, and this time there’s a glimpse of my favorite beast as he bites down on my lip, pulling it through his teeth.

“Tell me,” he demands again, using the arm he isn’t supporting himself with to slide a hand up my thigh, wrapping my leg around his waist. I do the same with the other, locking both ankles behind his back.

“I love you,” I say breathlessly as his mouth journeys to the other side of my neck.

Another noise comes from deep in his throat right before his lips hover by my ear.

“Polaris,” Morgan whispers so softly I wonder if it wasn’t meant for me to hear.

“The north star?”

I’m unsure what the hell that has to do with the words we’re exchanging. Or the temperature rising between us.
