the other sheep of John 10:16 are…

Who are the other sheep [John 10:16] according to Scripture?

The scriptures seem to teach that the “other sheep” Christ spoke about at John 10:16 were those who are believers in faith scattered “astray” abroad not within His immediate presence during His ministry on Earth. These “other sheep” also refers to the Gentiles and those beyond the Jewish nation who will become “one flock” [Galatians 3:28].

Revelation 7 Harmonizes with the fact that these “other sheep” are those “afar” as it describes a great multitude from “every nation” [Revelation 7:9-10]

(Revelation 7:9, 10) 9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of all tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. 10 They cried with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation be to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

All the 144000 and this “great multitude” & all the Angels will worship together in heaven around the throne of God.

We learn that Jesus, the Lamb is the shepherd of the faithful:

(Revelation 7:17) 17 for the Lamb who is in the middle of the throne shepherds them, and leads them to springs of waters of life. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

(John 10:11) 11 I am the good shepherd.[ a ] The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

But the Old Testament describes Jehovah as the shepherd:

(Psalm 23:1) Yahweh is my shepherd:

I shall lack nothing.

Hmmm…is the Lamb the Shepherd…or Yahweh?...the above three scriptures teach both.

Israel was the 1st love of God, now he has opened the way to us Gentiles.

Israel was 1st , Gentiles 2nd …and many who are 1st will be last and last 1st [Matthew 19:30]

We also know by reading the account of Mark 9:38-41 that there were those “outside” of the circle of Christ’s close followers…Jesus was aware of this and said that those not against you are for you:

(Mark 9:38-41) 38 John said to him, “Teacher, we saw someone who doesn’t follow us casting out demons in your name; and we forbade him, because he doesn’t follow us.”

39 But Jesus said, “Don’t forbid him, for there is no one who will do a mighty work in my name, and be able quickly to speak evil of me. 40 For whoever is not against us is on our side. 41 For whoever will give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you are Christ’s, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward.

The mystery of Israel’s salvation & the fullness of the Gentiles:

(Luke 21:24) 24 They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

(Deuteronomy 28:58) 58 If you will not observe to do all the words
