Continuous line

This technique is much as it sounds: the drawing is done continuously and at a constant speed without lifting the hand from the paper. Progress through the drawing rhythmically and slowly. It will inevitably have a network of lines overlapping each other that escape from the strict contour, as you are not taking the pencil off the paper to get from one point to another. The effect can be seen as messy, but it’s lively and creates a loose, impressionistic drawing.
