“How are you doing’ baby?” Ed asked his wife.

“I’m tired, Eddy…” She said to him, beat.

“I know, honey... I know…” He told her.

Ed was sitting next to his wife who was in her hospital bed. At this point, it was any day for her time to come. Ed had been by her side constantly. This was their last conversation.

“Can you do one thing for me?” She asked, with a cough.

“Anything, you know that,” He answered.

“No matter...what happens... You keep fighting, understand?” She said. This led to Ed nearly having a cry. “I’m going to be gone, but that doesn't mean you need to leave too... I love you, Eddy... And that's one thing, I need from you. To keep being the man you always were. A provider, a lover, a fighter, and a friend. Don't stop being those things... Don’t stop fighting, keep going…” She told him.

Ed was broken, and tears were running down his face. He was holding her hand tight and kissing it.

“I love you, Eddy,” She said.

“I love you... I love you so much…” He told her.
