Clarrissa: Didnât even have the balls to tell me you didnât want them did you?? Instead of talking to me like an adult you run like a fucking bitch I shouldâve known better but this is a lesson learned.
I blocked his number, turned off my emotions and went to take care of my son because his little heart keeps getting stomped on and Iâll be damned if I let that happen again if I can help it.
Chapter 20
I hopped up the next morning before my alarm even went off, not that I got much sleep anyways. I got up, showered and dressed before I got Elijah up for the day.
âNoooooooo,â he whined and threw this blanket over his face. I proceeded to poke him in the side until he was laughing and kicking the blanket off.
âLetâs go bub, I canât be late for work,â I said walking out and into the kitchen. I figured cereal is good enough this morning, I don't have much of an appetite anyways. Iâm trying not to let my emotions run wild but Iâm hurt above anything else. He didnât even say whatever it was to my face, like a coward he just fucking left. I wouldâve rather him tell me to fuck off over him ust walking away. I shook my head because I was done thinking about it. I have an uncanny way of cutting people off and not giving them another thought and thatâs exactly what I have to do in this situation.
âIâs hungry ma,â Elijah said as he ran up to the table.
âI got your cereal right here bub. Get up here and eat so we can go. Iâll feed everyone because we are running late.â We really werenât but I just wanted to get this day started. I fed everyone quickly and by the time Elijah was finished we were out the door in no time.
âWhereâs Jermy ma?â The question that was dreading all morning.
âHe decided to stay at home last night,â I said evasively
âWhenâs will he be back?â
âI donât know bub,â I said matter of factly. This is exactly why I didn't want to start a relationship with someone, they just disappoint you.
âHowâs comes?â He sounded so fucking sad and I hate it.
âI think that it was my fault.â I looked at him before I backed up. âIt wasnât anything that you did bubby, so donât you dare think that.â
âOkays,â He whispered.
âDid you want to explore the woods when we get home? Or maybe go to the park?â I asked, trying to cheer him up. Just as we were passing Jeremyâs house he was getting into his truck. He noticed us and lifted his hand to wave but stopped himself and that made my resolve strengthen even more.
âCans we goes to the park?â He asked happily and it seems that Jeremy is forgotten.
âWe can definitely go to the park and maybe even get some tacos for dinner. How does that sound?â
âI loves tacos,â He exclaimed. Thankfully Miss Georgiaâs house is only a block from the school so itâs not really out of the way.
