Chapter Twelve
We were silent as we walked to the hotel, and the vibe was confusing. Usually by now there was some physical contact. A full body press with grind to give the feel of each other. A deep tongue kiss to sip and mingle our flavors. Hell, usually two hours into a night with a man my partner had already been on his knees with my cock plunging down his throat. The only thing Leland had let me have thus far was a brief touch when he shook my hand.
But that had been enough that I was willing to put up with—for a while—doing this his way, even if my body was ragged and screamed to take control.
I was anxious to ease a measure of the throb in my dick, and planned to do just that first thing in his room and then maybe relinquish control for a round to please him. And yeah, at this point I’d drifted into new uncharted waters: fantasizing about not just how I wanted to fuck him, but letting him fuck me right after and imaging that even before he’d proven he deserved the right.
I made a careful study of him out of the corner of my eye. I resisted inhaling deeply as my balls turned to what felt like twenty-pound boulders in my pants. Oh, he’d passed the getting-to-fuck-me list and distinguished himself by being the only man ever to do it without auditioning first. Remember, some things you just know because they are.
Inside the hotel, at the elevator he stopped and gestured me in ahead of him. “I hope you don’t mind if we bypass the bar and have drinks in my room?”
I held back without entering, pinning him with my eyes. “I didn’t come here for drinks. We both know that. Or are you hoping for a delay and rethinking what you’ve gotten yourself into?”
As outwardly calm as I was, internally I was frantically sending prayers to Heaven that was not the case.
I’d never had a man affect me this way, and it would be the worst failure of the last two weeks if he slipped through my fingers as a regret and not a memory.
Slowly, the corners of his lips turned up as his gaze burned me, moving downward to linger at the bulge in my jeans before jumping back to make eye contact again.
“Once I make my mind up about something,” he replied quietly, “I never rethink the decision. But that’s probably because I never make a rash decision or take on more that I can manage.” His eyes ran me again, and you’ve got to admire a man that self-assured staring up at a guy four inches taller and thirty pounds more substantial. “No second thoughts. Not one.”
He turned away from me to face the panel, and rummaged in his pocket for his room key. His quiet, almost gentlemanly manner amused me since it conveyed he thought he was the one picking up me and expected to be in charge of whatever happened in his room.
