Step Two

Changing to a 3B pencil, add large eyes, a toothy mouth, bushy eyebrows, and long whiskers. Then refine the nose and add scrawny forelegs. The hind legs and feet are oversized, with long, sharp claws.

Step Three

Next add two curved horns, the pointy ears, facial hair, and a bushy tuft of hair on the tail. Add a striped pattern on the underside of the body and spikes along the back.

Step Four

To begin adding tone to the head, start with the horns and work your way down to the mouth. Place the darkest values at the bottoms of the horns, along the upper lip, and along the nostrils.
