The flight to the Falklands is quiet. Due to the unofficial nature of the mission, Nick’s orders have him landing at a discrete airfield, built miles from any populated area and only feet away from a jagged, rocky shoreline.

All remain onboard during refueling as each wrestle with their grief and the will to press on. The loss of the young Airman causes all to search their souls as each forges a new resolve and urgency towards the mission.

Finally, they are given the ‘all clear’ to go.

Ahead lies the last leg of their journey, a secret base in the Antarctic. Nick uses the full length of the runway before easing the B-47 up and away. Nick adjusts course and accelerates. The day’s events take their toll as Zac and Jacob, grief-stricken and mentally drained, welcome the solace of sleep. The ground crew watches until the fading roar of the engines gives way to the roar of the ocean.
