Bea: It’s so Beautiful

Strong arms held her, carrying her up the flight of stairs to her bedroom. Em-V’s dark blue eyes stared into Bea-Nell’s as she climbed.

I feel like a virgin.

I guess I am, in a way. The night Karen crept into my bed I was barely eighteen, feverish, afraid, mourning my family. I clung to her like a dream too pleasant to wake from, an escape from the nightmare all around me. We did things I don’t remember, yet the memory of gratification is strong. Then, as I recovered, some nights we shared a bed and explored each other’s bodies. I always left the light off and never looked at her, more afraid for her to see me. I should know more, but I remember so little.

They reached the second-floor landing with its two doors.

“Which way, my love?” Em-V turned from one to the other.

Bea-Nell pushed her feet toward the floor and stood, wrapping her arm around the taller woman with impressive musculature. She sighed.

“As beautiful as V is,” Bea-Nell gestured to Em’s current body, “I want my first time to be looking at the original face of my beloved, the same face I’ve stared at for the last century.” She entered V’s room. “Besides, after a hundred years I would love a bath. I’ve heard a tub running in here many times. Let’s indulge.”

“A bath? Inside? The water runs upstairs?” Em-V’s face clouded with confusion.

“Yes, well.” Bea-Nell stood looking at the Jacuzzi, with its three steps up and seating for two. “This isn’t exactly how mine looked, either, but we’ll adjust.” She looked above the tub into the mirrors on the walls and saw herself in the white nightgown she’d worn as she died, and next to her, staring at her reflection with light blue eyes the color of the sky, stood Emmaline in her leather, blond hair tied at the back of her neck.

“This will take some getting used to,” Em-V turned to face Bea-Nell, “but as you said, we’ll adjust. I don’t care what skin you’re wearing, my darling, I just want it sliding against mine.”

Bea closed her eyes as Em’s firm lips brushed hers, deepening the kiss as their passions mounted.

She pulled away, staring at Em in the mirror. “Stay here while I ask Morti about this tub.” She looked down at V’s moccasins and up at her leather clothing. “You could get undressed while I’m gone…” She winked and giggled, then scooted before Em-V could grab her. “I’ll be right back.”

She raced downstairs, enjoying gravity once more, although it slowed her down. “Morti!” She checked the sitting room, empty, the fire gone out. She ran down the hall past the dining room to the kitchen and found the little round witch humming to herself and stirring a pot on the modern stove. “Help.” She tried to catch her breath, unused to having to do so.

“Oh no, what?” Morti ran to Bea-Nell, grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her. “What’s happened? Where’s Em?” She looked frightened.
