The space station was designed in such a way that is completely different from the ship, so it does have a different feeling to it. It’s sort of like a town, in a funny kind of way. A town in terms of its social setup. I suppose a good analogy would be on the Enterprise we very rarely leave the officers or people who are driving the ship and that side of things, but there are hundreds of other people on board the Enterprise doing whatever it is they do. One of the things Deep Space Nine did was expand its frame of reference from not just the officers that deal with the space station, but to the other people whom we rarely see.
