I got off the phone with Hank and told the team to pack their gear. Thirty minutes later we headed out the door.

When we walked into the room, Hank was talking with an attractive young lady. “If this is considered patient recovery, I may get myself shot as well.”

Charlie said, “Hank, how are you holding up?”

Hank tried to sit up, but the pain was just too great. “Slow and sure. But little by little, I’m getting there, Charlie.” We heard someone clear his throat and turned.

A man was standing at the door. “I’m Detective Peterson, the officer in charge.”

We introduced ourselves and I asked, “Is there someplace we can talk in private?”

“Follow me.” He led us to a small lounge area, and we took seats around a table.

Charlie said, “Detective Peterson, we know who the assassin is.”

Peterson looked surprised. “That’s not possible. We only put him in our facial recognition data base yesterday afternoon.”

“I can’t share how we found out, but we have computer programs the rest of the world doesn’t have.”

Peterson asked, “Then tell me, what’s our shooters name?”

“Jason Abrahams, age 33. Ex-Delta Force. Dishonorably Discharged in 2005 for attempted theft of Government property. Address unknown.”

Peterson said, “I’m impressed. So where does that leave us?”

“It’s our belief that he’ll try again, and when he does, we need to take him alive.”
