I HALF-EXPECTED FOR Cosmo to just shove my suitcase in the closet, but he didnât. Instead, he carried it up to the second floor and led me to the master bedroom. There he placed it on the bed and opened it. Piece-by-piece, he took my clothing, including my bras and panties, and placed them in the closet and the dresser.
âThey arenât going to go through the closet,â I pointed out. âWe donât have to put my stuff in there.â
I wasnât going to be here long, and to be honest, I was a little concerned that when I left, I wasnât going to bring all of my stuff with me.
What if I accidentally left something behind?
That would be annoying.
There was a reason I never unpacked completely when I stayed at a hotel, and it was because if I did, I was certain that I would leave something behind. Even if I was only staying somewhere overnight, I left everything in my bag unless I absolutely had to unpack.
Okay, maybe I was a little more intense than I needed to be, but I also didnât lose shit like other people did.
Cosmo was seriously going to go there.
âLetâs just make this seem real,â he said. âEven if they find out that you keep an apartment, theyâll expect that youâre here enough to have your things in my closet.â
âHow would they know whether my stuffâs in the closet or not?â
âThis way, my clothes will smell like you.â
I stared at him, blinking.
âWhat?â
âMy clothes. Theyâll smell like you.â
He said this like it was the most obvious thing in the world, but it wasnât. I didnât have that shifter nose that so many people in Rawr County had, which meant that I didnât really consider âsmelling like someoneâ to be something I needed to work on or worry about.
âDo you actually think that will make a difference?â
He nodded.
âOkay,â I shrugged. He continued taking my clothes from the suitcase and putting them in different places. Iâd probably have to ask for directions like eight times to find all of my shit, but whatever.
The master bedroom had a huge bed in the center of the room. It was bigger than a normal king-size bed, and a question flitted through my brain.
âDo you sleep in your dragon form?â
He paused in the doorway to the walk-in closet and looked over. Then, without saying a word, he nodded.
Interesting.
I wondered if heâd shift while I was with him. Would I have to sleep with him in his dragon body? Would I want to? That honestly seemed like something I might want to do, but I wasnât sure. Iâd never seen him in his dragon form, but there was a first time for everything.
Right?
Maybe it would feel good. Maybe Iâd lick his scales.
Or maybe Iâd grow afraid and decide that this entire situation just wasnât for me.
When he stepped into the closet again, I looked at my smaller overnight bag. Iâd mentally started thinking of it as the sex toy bag, but that wasnât going to fly.
