CHAPTER 14
PREPARATIONS CONTINUE
Sunday, February 3 â MD Minus 112
UNKNOWN TO ABDUL Farsi and the other Jihadists working out of the old rent house off of Bell and 17th, there were cell groups throughout the surrounding communities and in Chicago, which had been established as part of the economic destruction effort. Operatives had been brought across the Mexican border two at a time and moved up to Carmen, Arizona where they had been placed aboard Brothers Trucking vehicles and taken to their assigned locale to await the attack. They had been trained in Iran and equipped in Mexico before the border crossing. Although the effort continued, most were now in place across the country waiting for the command to act.
It was in one such cell in Greenville that Argon found the one he believed was the chosen instrument to kill The Bookseller. He had a good Bible name, Demetrius, and like his namesake, he would be useful in trying to kill a boy named Paul along with the old one.116 This instrument was filled with hate, a perfect candidate. He was enraged at having to wait for months hiding in a house, unable to go out except at night. He had been trained and prepared to die. He was ready. The rage he expressed at the Booksellerâs press conference remarks boiled hot inside him â Argon could feel his wrath waiting to be unleashed. He was the one. âThis one has publicly insulted all the martyrs,â he had screamed at the television set, âhe must die.â Demetriusâ Keeper had reported immediately what had taken place.
Argon knew that it would take powers and abilities that had not yet been given to him to direct this instrument of death into their service and so he fearfully sought an audience with Molech. Fear was the right word after his last failure at trying to solve the Bookseller problem.
âExalted one,â he began, seeking to calm the waters by feeding Molechâs pride. âWe have found an instrument of hate wanting to die by killing the Bookseller. I was careful to seek out someone without a current assignment. This one is intended for the later attacks and can be easily replaced in time. He is restless and angry and probably will not wait for the planned attack. He has seen the outrage, and from his own mouth came the desire to kill, which his Keeper assures me is from his heart. He is evil and can be trusted. He is called Demetrius, like the one who almost rid the earth of the man Paul who wrote so much of the Enemyâs Book. That one was a hard kill, but back then our instruments did not have bombs they could strap to their bodies.â
âI know this one,â Molech responded. âHe is worthy of the honor of killing such an enemy of the Dark Master. I will call him to his chosen task. Well done, little one. For now, you can stay,â and with that, he was gone to Greenville.
