Chapter 11
Nora woke the next morning confused. At first.
She lay on her side, cuddled against an inferno. A thick arm had wrapped around her middle, a hand on the flat of her stomach, keeping her glued to the fiery body plastered against her back.
Deacon. Flashman. Sheâd had sex with the quarterback, and heâd nailed every play. Good Lord.
She felt her cheeks heat.
âNora?â came the husky question.
âHmm?â
âYeah.â He sighed into the crook of her neck, edged his thigh between her legs to spread her for him, and pushed into her.
The morning quickie brought her to a surprising orgasm in no time, followed by Deaconâs hoarse moan as he emptied inside her.
Considering what a stickler sheâd always been for safe sex, that sheâd had unprotected sex with Deacon all night long and now this morning should have panicked her. Instead, she felt better than good. She felt amazing.
She stretched and reached for the towel theyâd been using to keep the sheets from getting messy.
After using it, she left the bed to shower. When he made a move to enter behind her, she stopped him at the door. âNope. You need to wait. The other bathroom is down the hall if you need it.â
He looked down at her with an imposing glare then stomped away without a word.
Victorious in her need for morning autonomy, she took a quick shower, getting clean, and refused to worry that she wasnât worrying. Normal Nora would rethink her decisions and question herself to death. Fantasy/Christmas Nora loved everything about her time at the cabin. Period.
After drying off, she dressed in her least tight shirt, foregoing a bra because it was her week of vacation after all, and ignored tight jeans in favor of the lounge pants sheâd been wearing the previous day.
A sexy, naked Deacon passed by her in the hallway with a grunt and shut himself in the bathroom. She heard the shower go on and grinned. So, Deacon was officially not a morning person.
Good to know.
No, not good to know. She sighed. This is why I never should have had sex with Deacon. Because now Iâm acting like there will be a tomorrow with the guy, and we just had sex.
Thatâs it.
Sex. Amazing, unforgettable, best-sex-of-my-entire-life sex. Hell, we even had glorious quickie morning sex that gave me a jaw-dropping orgasm. Donât overthink. Remember, this is your Christmas present to yourself. Indulge and enjoy.
She started a pot of coffee then decided to fry up some bacon and eggs, making enough for Deacon before he headed back down the mountain.
At the thought, her happy mood fizzled.
Deacon joined her, wearing the jeans and sweater heâd worn yesterday. He studied her carefully. âGood morning.â
âYeah, yeah.â She waved the spatula around. âYou want eggs or what?â
His wariness faded, replaced by amusement. âSo, maybe Iâm not the only non-morning person around.â
âI like my mornings with coffee. Usually.â She nodded to the snow outside. âI guess youâll be heading back.â She whipped her head back to the window, what she was seeing finally registering.
