Chapter 8

Lisa

I was busy in my experiment. Somehow I got the papers of Dr. Cooper, which had shown me the direction of the ultimate math I needed to do, but many things were missing. I needed uranium, which I could not get my hands on. The other thing was the natural oil from a rare species located in Atlanta. The only way to get there was by helicopter. That would be too expensive for me. When one door was opened for me, many others closed on me. If I were dating Marshal, I could have gotten these things very easily, but at the cost of my pride. I might live in Lisa's body forever, but swallowing my own pride would be impossible for me.

Sam was out of the city for almost two weeks this time. He entrusted all the lab work to me. He didn't know what I was doing. Practically speaking, the lab researched various things and when I had been Ethan I had three people working, and the majority of money came from a major biotechnology company. As Ethan was missing, and nobody knew that I was Ethan, people didn't really trust our lab anymore. The major client of our lab had decided to give money to another lab, and we all were on dried state.[?] I tried contacting the company and getting back the contract, but they offered me another research project which was inferior to the work we used to do. I just declined it.

"Hello, Liz, how are you?" Sam knocked on the door in the evening. I was going through some sample of my blood to identify the foreign substance that had turned me into a woman. But that was a difficult job. Dr. Cooper had known his science very well. And some things were just beyond my grasp, though I had been a good student of his.

"You are here? You didn't call me."

"I thought I would give you a surprise."

I was shocked, because the moment I saw him in his red t-shirt and toned jeans, I had the craving to grab him in my arms tightly and taste those rough lips. I went ahead and gave him a half hug, a friendly one. "I didn't know you were coming, otherwise I would have been prepared." I looked at myself. I was in a sweatshirt and washed-out jeans, which I had bought a few days back. The girly clothes were damn horrible for me. I had one dress Marshal gave me when I lost the keys for Lisa's home. I couldn't understand why girls wear those tight dresses. Wearing a bra the first time was like somebody had wrapped me in a rope. But looking at the size of Lisa's boobs it was indeed an essential thing. "You look beautiful in any clothes, Liz."

I blushed away; the appreciation coming from Sam meant something special for me. "Thanks, Sam."

"So what's the plan for the evening?"

"Nothing much, working on this experiment; nothing else."

"Shall we go for dinner? I am really hungry.
