Chapter Eight

She’s stalling. But she can’t stay away from me forever.

I’m sitting in the dark in our bedroom, my belt in my hand. I may have left when she asked me to leave, but that didn’t mean I didn’t have eyes on her. I went up to the hidden west wing where I’ve set up security cameras so I could always keep my gaze on her.

I wasn’t going to leave her in the same room as Lindberg. I don’t care how much extra security Igor brought in with him. If Lindberg made one more wrong move, it would have taken me two minutes to get to him. Ten seconds to end him.

She’s mine. No one touches her. I’m surprised I let him live and get away with only a broken wrist. I did that for her. I spared his life for her. I stopped myself from scoping him out, preying on him like the deadly predator I am. Taking his life without another soul knowing.

But I don’t because that’s not what she wanted.

The door opens. I inhale her perfume. Fuck, her presence makes me instantly hard.

I sit back in the chair I’m in, and my belt rests on my thigh.

“Take your clothes off, sweetheart,” I say thickly.

Her perfect silhouette is outlined by the light of the moon. She makes me thirst for her to the point of eternal madness.

She hesitates.

“Kayne,” she whispers, her voice husky with arousal but also drenched with fear that makes her so deliciously appealing.

I bring the ends of my belt together and whip them apart. She visibly staggers as the sound echoes off the walls.

I don’t need to tell her again.

She removes her jacket and throws it onto a nearby chair. Her pink blouse comes off next. My gaze traces the orbs of her full breasts. My mouth waters to suck on the pearl-hard centers of her breasts.
