CHAPTER 6

HEALTHY BODY, HAPPY BODY

“I heard a definition once: Happiness is health and a short memory! I wish I’d invented it because it is very true.”

—AUDREY HEPBURN

It had been 15 days in Shangri-La, and the Billionaire had settled in well. Since there was Wi-Fi and a working desk in his suite, he was able to run his empire from the comfort of his room. The body had also begun to respond positively to the pure air, the simple food, and the regular long walks. My body was starting to age in reverse, thought the Billionaire.

Being a Tuesday evening, the hotel was quiet. Fewer guests and the weekly staff holiday resulted in a deserted lobby area. The Billionaire and the Monk sat idling their time, like two college kids talking about nothing. It was like the carefree salad days of youth.

“You must have heard of the American nutritionist Victor Lindlahr, who in the 1920s gave the Western world the phrase ‘you are what you eat.’ It means that the food you eat defines both your physical and mental well-being. We in Tibet have been practicing this for ages.

“This phrase is more relevant in this era because we are surrounded by choices in food that were probably never available to humankind ever before. For
