EIGHTEEN
âTAZâ
RAQUEL/QUE
The impending doom Iâve been feeling is getting worse by the day. I can almost touch it with my hands. Slick is close, I just know it. The bastard is a weasel, but a clever one. Look how long it took me to realize exactly what he is.
Teddy is once again at the Blue Sky Sanctuary school. With his two friends, Avalanche and Duck, who are his guardians. Or thatâs what heâs calling them. I canât imagine Duck in school but to see Avalanche, Iâd die of laughter. Iâve come to know the man over the last couple of weeks and heâs not what he looks and acts like. Some of my club sisters need to open their eyes, thatâs for damn sure.
Iâm on my way to the clubhouse to get ready for my appointment with a manager from the corporate office of our club bank. Seems like Cynthia vanished, so it took a while for my complaints of the missing money to finally register how much trouble the bank is in. Late last week on a conference call with Tink, Noodles, and this manager person, Timothy Smith, my prez explained how they didnât want her attorney to get involved because when that happens the shit will hit the fan. She then went into great detail on all Iâve done since the error was found on our end.
She threatened to take all of her money out of this location, which Timothy begged her not to. He said without her funds the bank would definitely go under and what would all the farmers and ranchers do. Theyâd have to drive to Bozeman, Livingston, or Billings, which is not only a long-ass day, but they will lose that time working their farms and ranches. Noodles said the bastard laid it on thick.
So today Iâm going to meet with this city dude and show him my records and bookkeeping so he can dive deep into where the money went and who took it. He swore to Tink that no matter what, even though itâs over the insured amount, heâd personally make sure she got the money back. I told her heâs blowing smoke up her ass, which had her cracking up. When I asked what was so funny, she leaned into my face all serious instantly.
âTaz, in all the years youâve been here with us, Iâve never heard you speak like that. With your badass hair of many colors, along with the crystals you wear daily, and your spiked leather collar and band when you ride, I knew there was a mouthy badass woman in there, we just had to pull her out. And Iâm glad sheâs here because now I get the whole package, and I like it.â
That has me blushing and looking down. They call her tiny and mighty, and itâs damn straight on. Anyway, Iâm going in with Shadow, Rebel, and Raven so this should be interesting. My skull-faced enforcer, bodybuilding badass club S-a-A, and our very own computer genius and backup muscle.
