The card in the Rider-Waite deck has the Angel of Justice sitting on her throne wearing a red robe and a golden crown with a square gem. There are two pillars on either side of her throne. In her right hand, she holds a double-edged sword pointed upwards and, in the other, a scale in a state of perfect balance. There is a purple curtain or veil in the background. The card is numbered eleven. The angel here is you, the figure that enforces law and order. I don’t mean law in literal terms but the laws of the universe and nature. The female form of the angel denotes your sensitivity and kindness of heart. These two qualities are associated with women, and hence the angel’s form highlights your predominant characteristics. Her crown stands for knowledge and the power to govern and pass judgement. You have the gift of genius and intellect, the crown that you wear, that you use to make right decisions in your life. The double-edged sword denotes impartiality and the direction it points to represents victory. You are impartial and fair most of the time, which is why karma favours you and guarantees victory to you. The purple veil represents the spiritual world, which is an important part of your physical existence. The red robe stands for authority and the power to make or enforce laws and maintain balance. The pillars on either side denote the good and the bad – the angel and the devil. You have a thorough understanding of the good and the bad in your life. You never lose sight of this understanding and are therefore logical and practical. The scales that you hold in your left hand, the hand of the subconscious and intuitive mind, stand for equilibrium; the sole purpose of your life.
