Luke swept the floor of nonexistent dirt for the second time in the past ten minutes. The moment Charlie shoved out her chest, his brain went down the gutter with his dick diving close behind. He hadn't been able to pull either of them out since. It didn't help that she still sat on top of the case and was leaning back on her hands while her crossed legs hung over the edge. Images of her in the same pose but naked kept inflating a dick he was trying real hard to deflate. Which was exactly why he avoided looking in her direction.

“So what are we going to do about the one bed in the back?”

Her question did nothing to cool his X-rated imagination. He paused mid-sweep and slammed his lids shut. There were so many things they could do about, on, beside—hell, without the bed—but none of those were options. Being stuck in a small space, one tiny mattress, with the woman he desired but could never have was not an option.

The one good thing to come from sweeping the floor was it gave him time to realize there was another way. He put away the broom and wiped his palms on his jeans. “Well, I've been thinking about that.”

Luke grabbed her bloodstained coat and tossed it to her. He put his own on, snagged an umbrella, and headed to the front door. “You might want to bring your things. You probably won't be coming back in here until the morning.”

Oddly enough, she did as she was told without argument or question.

Since the sleet was still falling, they huddled beneath his one umbrella while the frozen rain thudded on the fabric above their heads. With a hand around her waist, he guided her around to the back of the store.

The wind pulled Charlie's perfume and slammed the sweet scent of citrus into his face, taunting him with things he wasn’t allowed to desire. Not that it mattered. Her proximity, the multiple strands of her hair brushing against his skin, everything about her was a reminder to look but not touch.

“Where are we going?” she asked.

He cringed. Very few people outside of town knew what he'd been up to. And there were even fewer whose opinions mattered to him. “Do you remember I mentioned I liked to build things?”

Just as they were about to round the corner, she slipped on the pavement falling backwards. Luke tightened his grip, steadying her.

Neither moved. Her sexy ass was glued to his thigh, and the back of her head pressed against his lips. They stood still for a few minutes, until she finally pushed off and started walking. The inch of space between them under the umbrella felt like an ocean. One he ached to swim across.

As soon as they rounded the corner, nervousness crawled up his spine. The street lamps lit the dark night with a yellow glow, and in the middle of the parking lot behind the shop was...

“A tiny log cabin on wheels,” she said in excitement.
