Most weapons are designed this way to avoid blowing the gun apart if the bullet cannot escape the chamber. Pulling it away from pressure will allow the weapon to operate. This is an example of equipment failure in the heat of the moment. Often failure through a weapons malfunction or one designed a particular way can be remedied through training reminders. Many times, officers are bewildered by a non-operating piece of equipment. Training and muscle memory work to overcome this.
