In a routine
The alarm sounded out and I knocked it off, leading a grumbling Claudia to the shower.
âWhen I finish here I sleep for a week!â she complained.
All she had to do was stand there as I washed her all over, a good pussy wash much appreciated, and we sipped our coffees with the two studio guys later, talk about the Kudulov and Katerina Mary movies.
The Kudulov movie was complete, they reported, but they did not know when it would be released.
At the set, we were grabbed by Wardrobe, who today seemed to be switched on. Make-up done, the make-up artists as confused as ever over my skin, and I stood in a casual suit at the villaâs garden fence as Meg Ryan appeared.
âOh hello, are you visiting?â she asks.
âYes, a few days.â
âBritish?â
âVery British, yes.â
She stares at me. âYou, youâre thatâ¦â
âYes, I am. And I met your husband yesterday, and he seemed ⦠oddly excited to meet me then ⦠slammed the door in my face.â
âHe can be a bit odd sometimes, especially lately.â She puzzles her own words. âAnyway, join us for the barbeque, Sunday.â
âLove to, thanks.â
Three takes, and we had it nailed.
Sat with coffee, Claudia and myself chatting to Meg, Jim arrived seemingly half dead, and off he went - somewhere. Back with us fifteen minutes later he bent and stretched, he âyawnedâ his face a few times before he grabbed a strong coffee.
âWhere you staying?â he finally asked me as he sat, his real life character a long way from the zany characters he played on screen.
âWith Claudia, nice villa, nice view. And you?â
âIâm a third level turd, so I get a basic apartment not far away. But at least I donât have to share.â He faced Claudia. âHow many people were in that house you were in?â
âSeven.â
He faced me with a tired look. âShowbiz, eh.â
âI enjoyed making my own movie, but then again I was the boss. But everyone got plenty of sleep, plenty of food, a few days off. And we had to stop the extras laughing at the gags so that we could film.â
âSounds like a good environment,â he noted. âThese idiots, they expect me to be funny at 7am!â
âThat must be hard,â I agreed. âBut you do it well.â I faced Meg. âDo you feel pretty at 7am?â
âHell no, but Iâm the âplain girlâ with little make-up, so that helps.â She held her coffee mug as if her life depended on it.
âClaudia invests her money into my holiday condos and villas, and sheâll soon get a rental income good enough to live off. After that ⦠she can work if she wants to, not because she needs to.â
Meg put in, âI have a farm, and when I have extra money I buy a few extra fields and add to it. We have horses, in Maryland, and we make money from city people riding them, even hired a few out to the industry, and we do child therapy on the horses.â
âIs that your retirement plan?â I asked.
