I wake up the next morning with a goddess in my bed. Sheâs still wearing my jersey, and watching her lying there, hair spread over the pillow and her lips parted a bit, makes me want to kiss her awake.
Instead, I slip out of bed and go to the kitchen to chop some veggies for omelettes. I put a pot of coffee on and work on getting everything else prepped. As Iâm mixing the eggs, I hear a sleepy voice say, âMorning.â
âHey, gorgeous,â I say, crossing the kitchen to take her in my arms and kiss her deeply. Sheâs so soft and pliant in my arms I consider abandoning breakfast entirely and taking her back to bed. But thereâs plenty of time for that. Now that Iâve found Delaney, I have no intention of letting her go.
Ginger pads into the kitchen and sits at Delaneyâs feet, staring up at her lovingly.
âHey, sweetheart,â Delaney coos. âDo you need to go out?â
Gingerâs tail thumps and she looks at me, as if asking for permission.
âYou sure you donât mind?â I ask. âI can take her.â
âBut youâre making me breakfast,â she says with a smile. âI donât mind taking her. But, unless you want your neighbors to give me weird looks, I might need to borrow a shirt.â
âWhat, you donât want to walk around wearing my name?â I, personally, love the idea, but I can understand why it would make her self-conscious.
âI donât mind wearing your name,â she says, blushing as she looks at the floor.
âYou can put it back on later. Or, you know, leave it off,â I tell her with a grin. âIâll get you a shirt.â
I grab a shirt from my bedroom, and when I return to the kitchen, I find Delaney chopping onions and talking to Ginger.
âNo, you canât have these,â she says. âOnions arenât good for dogs. Iâll slip you some bacon later.â
âI heard that,â I say, wrapping my arms around her from behind. âYouâre going to spoil her.â
âSheâs too sweet to be spoiled,â Delaney says. âRight, Ginger?â
Ginger looks at me as if to say, âI like this one.â
Well, thatâs good, because I do too.
âHereâs a shirt,â I say. I might have intentionally grabbed a stretchy shirt because I know it will look amazing on her.
I tug on the hem of her jersey, and she lifts her arms to allow me to pull it off. Her breasts are fantastic, and I have to resist the urge to strip her bra off and worship her body right here in the kitchen. I canât keep myself from staring, though.
âEverything ok?â she asks softly.
âEverythingâs fucking amazing,â I tell her, kissing her gently. âIâm just hoping I get to see a little more of you later.â
Her cheeks flush, and she bites her lower lip as she glances up at me. âYeah?â she asks. I can hear the doubt in her voice, and I want to take her back to bed until she understands exactly how beautiful she is.
âAbsolutely. Do you have plans tonight?â
She shakes her head.
